Flapjack in the box and off to school

WHILE the summer holiday weather hasn't been all bad there's nothing more Scottish than having to dig out the sun screen for your child's first day back at school.

Just two weeks ago in Kirkcudbright we were under a weather alert because of Storm Floris.

Now, it's been close to heatwave weather again as most of the kids go back after the summer break.

As well as a water bottle and snack box, my daughter has factor 50 and a sunhat in her shiny new bag.
