Crisis uni's £96k job hunt as 65 face axe

About 65 posts at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) were put at risk of redundancy in May due to a £14.4million budget black hole.

Now the university is seeking an “interim director of student success” at its Paisley campus.

Despite cuts in Scotland, the university is also advertising for a £50,000-a-year business and management lecturer to be based in London.

UWS principal Professor James Miller earns £288,000 a year including pension contributions and claimed £37,429 of expenses on foreign travel in just two years.
