Calls for stricter rules as nuclear industry steps up lobbying efforts

LOBBYISTS for nuclear power have met MSPs more than 50 times amid efforts to reverse the Scottish Government's stance against new reactors, the Sunday Mail can reveal.
Critics pointed to an "upsurge" of industry lobbying, with our investigation finding a fivefold increase in meetings since 2021.
It comes after Keir Starmer's Labour government this month promised a new "golden age" for nuclear in England.
Scottish Labour says the SNP's opposition to nuclear is stifling similar investment north of the Border.
