World Cup hero George dies

TRIBUTES have flooded in for George Eastham, a member of England's winning 1966 World Cup squad whose death was announced yesterday.
The Blackpool-born forward won 19 caps for his country and was named in Sir Alf Ramsey's team.
He didn't play during the tournament but received a winners' medal at Downing Street in 2009 following a campaign for every member of the squad to get one, not just the 11 on the pitch at the end.
