IVAN TONEY isn't going to the World Cup - but he will always remember the day Pep Guardiola joined his fan club.
Toney struck twice grabbing the decisive goal late into added time to sentence the Premier League champions to a bruising defeat before the exodus to Qatar.
His late, late winner had City boss Guardiola clutching his head in disbelief, while 10 yards to the Catalan's right Thomas Frank celebrated a triumph laced with tactical acumen and tenacity.
Guardiola said: "Toney created a lot of problems. We couldn't control him.
"Toney is good. Every time we competed with their centreforward, we suffered.
"Whether he headed the ball on or held it up, we couldn't deal with it and it meant we were unable to press like we normally do.
