Tearful King unveils tribute to Ma and Pa

KING Charles was moved to tears as he unveiled statues of his late mother and father last night as the Royal Family came together to mark Remembrance weekend.

The Monarch looked on with pride and emotion at the striking sculptures of Queen Elizabeth II and the late Duke of Edinburgh at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The King and Queen Camilla joined members of the Armed Forces and a raft of celebrities and volunteers at the concert venue in Kensington for the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance.
The annual tribute to the fallen was overseen for the first time by Charles and Camilla 14 months after the death of the Queen.
It was attended by more than 5,000 service veterans and members of the public.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, were also in attendance, along with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty.
The 6ft 5in-high bronze figures, created by artist Poppy Field, are two of four sculptures which were installed last week at the Royal Albert Hall, alongside statues of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
This year's festival, hosted by Clare Balding, commemorated significant anniversaries of two crucial historical battles - the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic and the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, which in more than 60,000 UK soldiers mainly national servicemen - fought and 1,100 died.

"Finally, I can breathe easily... and no more coughing!"
I SUFFERED with breathlessness for years which I blame on my job as a plasterer. Being on dusty sites for years took its toll on my lungs and now I am paying the price! Two years ago I was diagnosed with COPD, it was so bad that it stopped me doing just about everything.
