Tavernier strike adds to woes of depleted Wolves

Both clubs were pillaged of their best players in the summer, but on this evidence it is Wolves who have larger holes to fill.

Vitor Pereira’s side — thrashed 4-0 at home by Man City on opening day — left even more gaps on the field when Toti Gomes (below) saw a straight red for felling Cherries striker Evanilson.

It was harsh, given that the Brazilian cut across the defender's path, and the hand on the forward's back was to prevent a collision.

The hosts had looked likely to add to Tavernier's early goal set up by the Antoine Semenyo — but trailed off way before the end.
