The Brazilian who recently swapped his shirt with a fan for a double pack of Kinder cookies, left Forest with a bitter taste in their mouths.
Not only did Guimaraes strike a superb winner – his second goal of the game – but his clincher left home fans feeling a big VAR call had gone against them.
At 2-2, Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi was felled by Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka, but officials opted not to overturn referee Anthony Taylor’s call.
It was a reprieve for Eddie Howe’s side – who twice let their lead slip – and felt more of an injustice when Guimaraes (inset) drilled home his 66th-minute winner.
