Social media blamed for Gen Z mental health crisis

THE scale of the mental health crisis facing young people has been laid bare in research which exposed a lack of faith in the education system.

Seven out of 10 of the 18 to 30 Gen Z age group said they had suffered from mental health issues or know someone who had, with one former MP laying the blame squarely with social media. The polling for the mistic. People who voted for Reform UK last year were “far more pessimistic” about what awaits them.

While 44% of those who backed Nigel Farage’s party were pessimistic about their future in Britain, this was the case for just 34% of Labour voters and only 27% of those in this age group who backed the Tories.
