Rise in family feuds over inheritance

FAMILY feuds over inheritance soared to record levels in the final quarter of last year.
But the multimillion-pound struggles depicted so brutally in TV drama Succession may not behind the trend. Instead, it appears the rise has been partly attributed to more people struggling with the cost of living.
The latest figures showed there were 3,061 applications to block probate in England and Wales in the final three months of 2024.
This was the first time there has been more than 3,000 bids in a single quarter, according to analysis of official data by law firm Taylor Rose.
