NEWS at Ten presenter Rageh Omaar, who fell ill during a live TV bulletin, has insisted he was determined to finish presenting the programme.
Concerned viewers flooded the ITV switchboard after the popular broadcaster was seen shaking and struggling to get his words out on Friday night. But he carried on for another 20 minutes until the end of the programme before being rushed to hospital. Last night, Omaar, 56, speaking from the
west London home he shares with his wife Georgiana Rose Montgomery-Cuninghame and their three children, said: “I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News, and our viewers who expressed concern.
“At the time, I was determined to finish presenting the programme. I am grateful for all the support I’ve been given.”
