Picture this: MPs ripping down Churchill portraits after Labour election win

SEVEN portraits of Britain's most beloved prime minister Sir Winston Churchill have been taken down from parliamentary offices since Labour came to power last July.
Nick Smith, chair of the House of Commons' Administration Committee, confirmed this, saying "six were taken off display from members' offices following changes to office locations and occupancy after the election, and one required conservation work".
The Parliamentary Art Collection boasts 10,000 works of art from which MPs can choose for the purpose of decorating their offices.
It still contains 33 artworks either by, or depicting, wartime leader Sir Winston, below, whose efforts will be celebrated this week around the 80thanniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
