Mulled beer for Christmas cheers

MULLED beer is set to be this festive season's tipple of choice, writes Jaymi McCann.

Searches for the warming spiced drink are up 126%, according to Heineken-owned brewery Beavertown as consumers seek out "more adventurous festive drinks".

The company said dark beers such as stout and porters work best as they are more likely to be "sweeter and more rounded and fruity".
