Top seed Sinner is out for revenge in showdown of the world's finest
JANNIK SINNER will today seek Wimbledon “revenge” on Carlos Alcaraz for his French Open final defeat in the latest clash of the world’s top two players.
The Spanish superstar saved three match points against the Italian in Paris last month before winning their five-set epic — and his fifth Major.
And now the top two seeds, who have shared the last six Grand Slams titles, will meet again on Centre Court.
Alcaraz is seeking to become only the fifth player ever to complete a hat-trick of Wimbledon titles.
And world No.1 Sinner is bidding to become the first Italian to win a singles title in SW19 - and end a run of five consecutive defeats against the world No.2.
“Yes, this will be revenge for Paris,” said Sinner’s coach Simone Vagnozzi.
