Keep an eye on sky - and your chips – to beat thieving seagulls

IF YOU are holidaying in Brighton, Blackpool or Scarborough, guard your chips with your life - those pesky seagulls will be after them.

The three popular seaside resorts top the list when it comes to our feathered "friends" using tourists for target practice — and flying off with whatever treat they can.

Nearly half of people enjoying a day out report being physically attacked by a fearless bird, while more than half say they have been chased by a gull.

At least two-fifths had chips stolen, more than a quarter had their takeaways nabbed and a sixth had their ice cream swiped by the thieves.
