Hi-tech strawberries on sale all year round
Sunday Express
|January 18, 2026
AWARD-winning British strawberries are now available in shops all year round, thanks to state-of-the-art heated glasshouse technology.
Strawberries are rotated on massive wheels within the cutting edge heated glasshouse
Dyson Farming's premium British strawberries have been added to the winter range of Nationwide Produce, one of the UK's largest and longest-established family-owned fresh produce suppliers.
The berries are grown in Dyson Farming's 26-acre glasshouse, powered by a unique circular farming system, which allows shoppers to enjoy a taste of summer in midwinter.
The traditional growing season ran from May to September, meaning berries would have to be imported in winter. But with the help of green tech, Dyson Farming - formed by entrepreneur Sir James Dyson - is now supplying a large quantity to caterers and the public alike.
