Cost-cutting mayor 'deserves pay rise'

REFORM Mayor Andrea Jenkyns says she deserves a pay rise — despite pledging to slash costs in her local election campaign.
The regional mayor for Greater Lincolnshire, who is paid £86,060, said politicians in “regional roles” should have higher salaries.
Dame Andrea, a former Conservative MP, pledged in her manifesto to introduce her own Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE, modelled on the US department originally led by Donald Trumpbacking billionaire Elon Musk, and said she would “slash unnecessary spending” and “keep council tax low”, although the regional mayor has no control over council tax.
