COLONEL'S SIMPLY MUSTARD
Sunday Express
|November 09, 2025
COLONEL HARRY came back from a career-threatening injury to tame the Grand National fences in the William Hill Grand Sefton Chase.
The Jamie Snowden-trained eight-year-old developed a serious leg infection after falling at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.
But Gavin Sheehan's mount, having his first outing since, made the perfect debut over the world-famous obstacles to beat Gaboriot by two lengths.
“After he fell at Cheltenham he got a nasty injury in his back leg,” recounted Snowden (right). “There was no open wound, but it was a horrid infection.
“He was in the veterinary hospital for two weeks.
“It was very serious and all credit to the vets for getting him back and to the team at home for having him ready first time out - it was an incredible effort.
