Children killed in Texas flash floods

AT LEAST 27 people including nine children were killed after flash floods swept through parts of south-central Texas following torrential rainfall.
Dozens more were still missing last night with 23 girls from Camp Mystic, a private Christian summer camp located on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, unaccounted for.
They were among more than 750 youngsters staying at various camp sites along the river when the area was inundated just after 4am on Friday, a holiday in the US to mark Independence Day.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said: "We're praying for all those missing to be found alive."
