Biden: I'll only quit if the Lord Almighty tells me

JOE Biden has refused to stand down from seeking re-election as US President in November despite his shambolic performance at a live TV debate with Donald Trump.

- Mike Parker

Biden: I'll only quit if the Lord Almighty tells me

He told cheering supporters at a rally in key swing state Wisconsin: "Guess what? They're trying to push me out of the race. Well, let me say this as clearly as I can: I'm staying in the race.

"I am running and I'm going to win again. I will beat Donald Trump."

Hours later on Friday night, in his first TV interview since his debate debacle, President Biden, 81, was asked if he would quit if he could be convinced he cannot beat Mr Trump, 78.

He replied: "It depends on if the Lord Almighty comes down and tells me that, I might do that."
