Ain't no mountain high enough...how amputee Debbie battled to the top

BEING born with one arm and one leg hasn't stopped Debbie McQuat scaling 20 mountains.

In March she became the first female amputee to climb Mount Teide in Tenerife, the world's third highest volcano.
The 51-year-old, who lives near Glasgow, said: "To stand on the summit felt like such an achievement. I used to feel as though I needed to hide my leg away and would always try to prove I wasn't different. Now I'm proud to be different." Debbie was born with her arm and leg missing after the limbs didn't develop properly in the womb. Her identical twin Vicky was born healthy.
The mother of two said: "The doctors don't know why.
