Even by the north Londoners’ famously frustrating standards, this was something else.

Adama drama is as Spursy as it comes

WOLVES 1

TOTTENHAM 0

IF EVER there were seven days that summed up Spurs, these were them.

From the high of defeating despised rivals Chelsea, through the disappointment of an FA Cup exit in midweek against Championship opposition, to defeat against Julen Lopetegui’s Black Country battlers – here it was in all its inconsistent glory.

They dominated the first half and were dominated in the second.

In the end they contrived to lose to a club where a recognised striker hasn’t netted in open play for over a year.

Not that Wolves needed it. Adama Traore found the finish eight minutes from time as Raul Jimenez came close to preventing the hosts’ unwanted record from being set after Fraser Forster parried his shot back into play.

This was a different reversal for Spurs to the battering they took three weeks ago at Leicester.

They hit the woodwork twice and had restricted Lopetegui’s side to long-range efforts until the late stages.

However, the tide turned when the Wolves boss swapped, changed and came up trumps.
