Plea to take over post office as owner leaves

An urgent call has been issued over the future of Aberfoyle’s post office after the village’s long-running owner announced she was having to give up the service due to health.
Ros Dingwall and her family have run the local post office and shop for four decades, but in a post on social media this week, she confirmed that she was having to “urgently pass the baton” over to someone else.
It has prompted calls from the village to find a suitable individual to become a new owner for the post office and maintain what has been described as a vital service for the community.
In the social media post, Ms Dingwall wrote: “It has been a joy and privilege to spend the last 40 years providing Post Office services at the heart of our community.
“However, I must now urgently pass the baton to someone else.
