Classic vehicle event was dream come true
Stirling Observer
|June 04, 2025
Residents of William Simpsons Care Home in Plean have had their wishes fulfilled thanks to classic vehicle enthusiasts.
-
It all started back in March when the Stirling Section of the Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club (VMCC) roared through the streets of Plean to park up in the care home café with bikes on display. The place was packed, and it was a dream come true for those who owned bikes themselves in the past - as one resident said “once a biker, always a biker!”.
This annual event, now in its fourth year, heralds the start of the home's Spring/Summer programme of activities and is a much anticipated event amongst residents and staff alike.
For many residents, the bikes and their riders provide a welcome opportunity to share stories of their family biking history, reminisce about the places they've been and enjoy some technical, mechanical talk with the riders. For other residents it provides a fascinating window into another world and an afternoon spent in good company.
