KVK-Ramban conducts training on scientific cultivation of Maize

As the Kharif season is approaching and Maize which constitutes a major crop of Kharif season in this district; KVK-Ramban imparted training to the farmers on scientific cultivation of Maize. Regarding the traning programme Dr. Parveen Kumar (SMS) Ag. Extension at KVK-Ramban told that district Ramban is almost rainfed with more than 90 percent area dependent upon timely rainfall for cultivation of different crops in Kharif season.

Last year too farmers had to go for repeated sowing of Maize due to absence of timely rainfall. The lack of timely rainfall alongwith the crude and unscientific cultivation methods severely affects the production of maize in this district.
