Claim that X ‘refused to disclose messages’

SOCIAL media giant X “refused to disclose” the contents of messages the Southport killer sent on his multiple accounts, the inquiry into his mass atrocity was told.

The Southport Inquiry was told that counsel to the proceedings had sent a “deliberately broad” request to X, formerly known as Twitter, asking for information linked to Axel Rudakubana’s phone number, three email addresses or the X handle Red_Lorry123.

The inquiry heard X originally provided identification of four accounts linked to the email addresses but the day before a representative of the social media platform was due to give evidence, provided details of three other accounts.
