|October 05, 2025
Fielding queries from reporters here on Friday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said survey work, which had been affected for the first two to three days due to technical reasons, had gained momentum and was progressing fast now.
-

A note issued by the Chief Minister's office on Friday evening said the survey targeted to cover 1,43,77,978 households of which 81,27,206 had been covered by October 2. If the 9,35,044 households covered on October 3 are taken into consideration, the total households covered in the State so far is 90,61,880 representing a population of 3,42,31,444. By October 3, the survey has achieved a progress of 63.03%, the note added.
When his attention was drawn to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's reported statement that the ongoing survey was aimed at dividing people, the Chief Minister sought a clarification from the Union Minister on the purpose for the caste survey proposed to be conducted by the Centre. "Does the Centre have an intention to divide people on the basis of caste and religion?" he asked.
