Criticising the AIADMK, an ally of the BJP, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday urged Muslims to “boycott those who support the BJP’s cheap, autocratic, and authoritarian politics”.
Speaking at a function marking the 1,500th birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed in Chennai, Mr. Stalin said, “The DMK would always stand by you (Muslims) and fight for your rights.”
He listed various measures implemented by the DMK government for the welfare of Muslims.
Mr. Stalin said the DMK had protested against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
