Vape shops are forced to shut in crackdowns

EIGHT vape shops have been ordered to close for months following raids by trading standards officers.

The Swansea businesses are suspected of selling illegal nicotine products.

Earlier this month officers from Swansea Council and South Wales Police raided 14 premises and issued 48-hour closure orders against nine of them as part of a crackdown on black market cigarettes and vapes.

For the following eight shops those orders have now been extended to three months:

■Bob CBD Vapes at 29 Union Street in the city centre;

■Snoop Vapes at 71 High Street in the city centre;

■Asia Vapes at 40 St Helen's Road in Sandfields;

■Bob Marley Vapes at 75 St Helen's Road in Sandfields;

■Crystal Vapes at 95 Gorseinon High Street;

■Kubus Vapes at 31b St Helen's Road in Sandfields;

■World of Vapes at 89 St Teilo Street, Pontarddulais; and,

■Morriston Minimarket at 86 Woodfield Street, Morriston.
