BIRCHGROVE Colts stretched their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-1 home draw versus a Murton Rovers side that are now winless in their last three matches.

Jack Knill put the visitors 1-0 up in the 13th minute of the match at Tir Canol but any hopes of Murton Rovers taking all three points were dashed when Oliver Schofield’s penalty was tucked away just after the break.

Murton stay in second spot in the Swansea Senior League Premier Division but are now five points behind leaders Waunarlwydd Galaxy having played a match more.

Port Tennant Colts’ unbeaten start to the league season continued as they became the second team in succession to take all three points from Blaenymaes at the Cadle Mill.

Aidan Chappell Smith opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for the visitors before turning provider for Thomas Brown who doubled the lead for Port Tennant Colts.

A tense finish was ensured when Kairon Cole pulled a goal back in the 78th minute before Colts substitute Niall Harrington made it 3-1. Colts look to retain their title starting with the match on Saturday when they host league leaders Waunarlwydd Galaxy.

A 4-4 draw away to Brynawel means that it is just the one league win in five for last season’s Open Cup winners, Penclawdd.

Ashley Johns put the visitors 1-0 up in the 35th minute but despite losing Lori Hughes recently to Talycoppa, Brynawel have found a greater resilience and surged 3-1 ahead thanks to a pair of Aled John goals and a strike from Callum Sullivan.

Ryan Vincent gave the visitors a lifeline when he made it 3-2 and Kristian Corbisero made it 3-3 just three minutes after Josh Allen had failed to convert from the penalty spot.
