GOLF Rory Mcllroy has been crowned BBC Northern Ireland's Sports Personality of the Year.

The golfer from Co. Down clinched the award, adding to his collection which already includes the overall BBC Sports Personality of the Year and RTE Sport Sportsperson of the Year accolades.
The 36-year-old Holywood native triumphed at the 89th Masters in April, making history as the first European golfer to achieve a career grand slam in men’s golf.
