Services unlikely to operate according to First Cymru
BUSES across Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan will be disrupted this week as industrial action is taken by drivers over an ongoing pay dispute.
First Cymru has listed the services "unlikely to operate" during the strike, which started yesterday and is due to continue until Saturday, November 8, inclusive.
Staff are demanding a pay award of £15 per hour to bring them in line with Cardiff Bus and Arriva in North Wales. Staff at depots in Swansea, Port Talbot, Bridgend, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, and Ammanford will be walking out.
It is the second period of strike action, following a spell between October 30 and November 2. There had been plans for a strike from October 22 to October 25, but this was called off as workers were balloted on a new offer which was rejected.
A statement from First reads: "Unfortunately, Unite the Union has chosen to proceed with strike action, which will affect our customers. Our door remains open to negotiation and we continue to seek a resolution."
