WELSH TV presenter Ruth Dodsworth has been awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by King Charles III during an Investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
The 50-year-old was awarded the title for her services to victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
Ruth has publicly spoken out about her own experience with coercive control at the hands of her ex-husband, former Swansea nightclub boss Jonathan Wignall who was jailed in 2021.
The TV presenter has used her platform to share her story in the hopes that it can help others, saying it came with a "responsibility".
She has continuously spoken about the topic of domestic abuse to raise awareness, and in 2022, she presented the ITV factual documentary Controlled By My Partner? The Hidden Abuse.
Earlier this year she started her own blog - Ruth is a Survivor - on social media to further share her story.
Ruth said that being awarded her OBE was "for every single person who held my hand on that journey".
