Five-star leaders issue title warning as they end Dracs’ unbeaten run

JD Cymru South leaders Cambrian United flexed their muscles as they ended Cardiff Draconians’ eight-match unbeaten run with a 5-2 home win to move four points clear at the top.

‘Twice the visitors took the lead in the first half yet found themselves trailing 4-2 at the break.

Sam Roberts scored a penalty in the eighth minute for the Dracs and then Sam Cawley made it 2-1 as he responded to the first home strike from Liam Eason.

Cody Williams levelled things midway through the first half before more goals from Eason and Williams changed the course of the game.

The final nail in the visitors’ coffin was applied by Williams from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick.

Trefelin moved into second thanks to a 2-0 home win over Pontypridd United. Roan Piper and Tyler Brock scored the goals.

Third-placed Caerau Ely went down 3-2 at Afan Lido. They also had Dan Griffiths sent off in the 90th minute after a second yellow card.
