Evans ready for Ogier challenge in showdown

ELFYN Evans stands on the verge of his first World Rally Championship crown.

But it will be far from easy for the Welsh star as he faces a tense battle to fend off teammate Sebastien Ogier in the final race of the season in Saudi Arabia.
That takes place at the end of the month.
And Kalle Rovanpera also remains in with an outside chance in what could yet turn into a three-way battle for the title.
Evans went into the penultimate round of the championship in Japan with a 13-point advantage at the top of the standings.
But that lead was cut to just three points as Ogier delivered a superb drive to claim a maximum haul of 35 points.
Evans took 25.
