Evans finally ends her wait for a winner

NIKKI Evans was possibly the happiest - and most relieved - person at Ffos Last last week.
Evans made a welcome return to the winner's enclosure at the Carmarthenshire track. It put an end to a frustrating spell of more than a year without a winner for the Monmouthshire trainer.
Evans’ previous success came in May 2024. Since then she has seen no end of her horses finish in the money without getting their heads in front.
But that finally came to an end when Sofian landed the seven-furlong handicap at Ffos Las. The 16-1 chance crossed the line almost in unison with Bullington Bry, but after an agonising few moments Sofian was announced the winner and Evans’ celebrations could begin.
