Another grand old night to aid vital cause
South Wales Evening Post
|November 29, 2025
IT'S been a week of two theatres for me as rehearsals for this year’s Swansea Grand Theatre panto got under way and the third annual Maggie's Christmas Show at the Swansea Building Society Arena which once again attracted a sizable crowd to support the cancer care centre.
-
Having hosted the three arena concerts I felt that it was the best so far and following comments on social media it seems that I’m spot on with that opinion.
This year the show featured a number of world class performers all with a local connection including two Mikes, comedy star Mike Doyle and Mike Sterling a huge West End star with many great credits.
Another acclaimed musical theatre performer on the bill and bringing the house down was highly acclaimed Hayley Gallivan.
I could see Hayley’s parents Tony and Pam from the stage beaming with pride as she beautifully sang the big numbers from Wicked, a show that Hayley has starred in London's West End.
Another proud family belonged to talented young opera singer Tara Camm from Birchgrove - what a voice!
Only in her mid-20s Tara has appeared in major opera productions here in the UK and in Europe.
