Owner's illness forces venue to cancel weddings

A STUNNING Welsh manor house has announced it will be cancelling all weddings from January as one of its owners battles cancer.
Gileston Manor house is a Georgian Grade II-listed building located in Barry, with eight suites for up to 18 guests, with well-kept lawns and a ballroom.
In recent years, the beautiful venue has been compared to some of the royal residences pictured in shows such as Bridgerton.
Owners Josh and his wife Lorraine said the decision to cancel all weddings from next year onwards was made due to Josh’s health deteriorating, leaving Lorraine to operate the business alone.
They hope their decision to step away from hosting weddings will allow them more time together.
A spokesperson for Gileston Manor said: “It is with the deepest sadness that we share this message from Gileston Manor.
