WELSH CUP ROUND-UP

GOYTRE United goalkeeper Luke Jones was his side’s hero as he made back-to-back saves in a tense penalty shootout to earn his side a ticket into the next round of the JD Welsh Cup

The Ardal South West side welcomed Ammanford and played out a 1-1 draw over 90 minutes. Keane Watts scored on the stroke of time to throw the home side a lifeline.

The first 12 spot-kicks hit the back of the net to make it 6-6 before Jones saved from opposite number Josh Hutchings.

That gave Oli Bradley the chance to win the game for Goytre, but Hutchings made up for his miss moments earlier.
