Boofy's cashes in its chips after 25-year run

A MUCH-LOVED fish and chip shop which has long been a staple on Barry Island’s seafront has announced it will be closing.

Boofy’s, which often has queues out of its doors and has featured in the background of countless episodes of Gavin & Stacey, will close “for good” in the new year after 25 years at its seaside spot.

Located on the beachfront’s Western Arcade, Boofy's is a firm favourite for many who visit the town, including the cast of the hit BBC sitcom themselves.

While filming the final episode of Gavin & Stacey, which aired last Christmas, James Cordon posed for pictures with the staff.
