What a terrible way to start last weekend, as I learned of the passing of one of my friends and colleagues, Phumlani Msibi, on Friday! One of the best in the game and I want to send my deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew him.

His is such a big loss to the Beautiful Game, but may his soul rest in peace. The FIFA Club World Cup has been such an exciting tournament, and I am happy to see our representatives, Mamelodi Sundowns, Cassius Mailula, Elias Mokwana and Thembinkosi Lorch doing so well. The guys have really raised the bar and adjusted to the high level, despite disappointing results from time to time. The overall performance has been impressive, and I wish them all the very best. I believe a lot of good will come from their participation in this tournament. Sundowns were scheduled to play their last game of the group stages against Fluminense on Wednesday night, so by the time you read this column, they would have played that game already.
