THERE'S NO SHORTAGE OF STUNNING COASTAL OPTIONS IN LINCOLNSHIRE TO WHILE AWAY A FEW HOURS

- By TED O'NEILL

I'm shore you'll love these top ten beaches!

HE sun has had his hat on across Lincolnshire all the way through our scorching spring.

And this week he’s come out to play again with a vengeance.

Well, if your beach body’s ready for that tan, we've got news for you: Malaga is out of fashion this season. Greece is so 2024.

This year, the place to be is Lincolnshire: from the traditional splendour of Cleethorpes to the natural beauty of Sutton on Sea to the hotbed of Skeg and natural rugged landscape of Gibraltar point - there’s something here for everyone.

Lianne Havell, the founder and organiser of Sutton on Sea Beachcare warned parents to be aware of their children when the tides turn and to be particularly careful of youngsters with jellyfish when the beach warms up in June and July.

She said: “We are lucky on this coastline as there are so many beaches to choose from.

“The cleanliness of the beach at Sutton on Sea is absolutely spotless. I'm totally biased of course, but it’s the place to be.”

Skegness Beach

What the reviews say:

“I dropped lucky with the weather when I visited Skegness this weekend - April 5-6 - bright, sunny, and almost cloudless sky - but windy.

“Skegness really has it all: an endless choice of things to do from the fair to the aquarium to indoor play areas and outdoor play areas, the park, the miles and miles of sandy beautiful beaches: You can walk the dog which you can do for miles in peace and quiet right up to other destinations further up the coast.

“Boating lakes, outdoor paddling pools, escape rooms, theatre, swimming pools.” (April 2025)

Cleethorpes Beach

What the reviews say:

“Warm water! No Rocks! Cleethorpes is a hidden gem.

“The water was soooo warm! At low tide the sea is shallow which heats up, Hornsea is like the arctic in comparison, Clees is Miami, honestly was so warm and pleasant to actually relax in.
