Yolanthe Fawehinmi previews Festive Finish Line

When Sarah Greene first started cohosting The Finish Line with Roman Kemp in 2023, she didn't think so many people - including her peers - would fall in love with it.

But if the 68-year-old former Blue Peter presenter considers all the great game shows she has watched over the years, there's one thing that they all have in common: they have a great format.

Viewers of BBC One's The Finish Line are no strangers to its nail-biting finishes, as contestants race against each other on moving podiums by answering general knowledge questions for the chance to win a £5,000 cash prize.

The aim of the game is simple: the more you know, the further you go across the studio floor, where the last player in each race is eliminated.

In celebration of the festive period, the game show is back for another five-part Christmas series, The Festive Finish Line, where celebrity guests, including Russell Kane, Tim Vine, Christopher Biggins, Zoe Aldcroft and Emma Barton will put their general knowledge to the test in themed rounds, and raise money for charity.

Ahead of the show's release, Greene reflects on why people enjoy watching the game show.
