Newcastle set to target foreign 'value' in January, says Wilson

Newcastle United sporting director Ross Wilson has confirmed that the club have 'expanded' their scouting network and will consider options in foreign markets when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Magpies have had great success shopping abroad in recent years with Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Sven Botman and, most recently, Malick Thiaw all impressive after joining from overseas.
Whilst the club has also had success signing players from other Premier League clubs as well, one criticism of their recruitment in recent windows has been the importance they place on English topflight experience.
Often, players signed from other English clubs come at a premium and whilst transfers from abroad can come with added risk of players not settling or adapting to English football, they are usually cheaper deals to complete.
