Hawdon edges out Beard-Foden to take Parkrun crown

Rachel Hawdon, from the home club, surged to an excellent victory in the South Shields Parkrun on Saturday.

South Shields Harriers' Hawdon finished an impressive sixth overall in the mixed field of 218, and first woman with 21:09 for the 5km over the Leas.
Shields' Kelly Beard-Foden was second in 21:18, with Caroline Ames, from Jarrow and Hebburn, sixth in 23:38.
