A local author has taken inspiration from a South Tyneside short break unit for her book.
Lauren Taylor has created a book about Foxden, a short break unit for children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities), that is based in the Harton area.
Earlier this year, the centre was rated as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted - with the centre enabling children with disabilities to try new experiences and celebrate their strengths in a safe environment.
