PLAN REJECTED BY COUNCILLORS
A PROPOSED house in multiple occupation (HMO) in Scunthorpe has been rejected by councillors.
A three-bed family home in Webster Avenue was proposed to be converted into an HMO with five en-suite bedrooms for up to eight residents. However, it faced widespread opposition, including over 20 residents' objections and even a rare objection from Humberside Police.
The HMO was unanimously refused by North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee. Its refusal follows on from Labour and Conservative councillors passing a joint motion to require greater scrutiny of all HMO applications, no matter the number of bedrooms.
