Crashes by tourists on wrong side of road soar

THE number of crashes caused by visitors to Scotland driving on the wrong side of the road has soared almost 50%.
Figures released by Transport Scotland showed 35 collisions caused by "inexperience of driving on the left" in 2023, up from 24 the previous year - a rise of 46%.
Campaigners described the increase as "disappointing" and demanded additional signage and prompts as a reminder, particularly in rural areas.
Signs are often placed at airports, other transport hubs and car hire firms reminding drivers vehicles in the UK are driven on the left side of the road.
