Rodgers questions 'morality' of former Light Blues coaches giving Martin stick

- BY GAVIN MCCAFFERTY

YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER

CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has questioned the morality of some of the criticism of Russell Martin from people who were recently coaching Rangers.

Last season's interim Ibrox boss Barry Ferguson plus his coaches Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor have not held back giving their say in the media on Martin's disastrous tenure.

But Rodgers has come out swinging in defence of his Old Firm rival. He slammed Martin's snipers who were once “stood in his shoes or sat on the bench” at Ibrox.

Rodgers believes Martin deserves more respect as a young head coach looking to put his stamp on Rangers after a barren season for the club. And the Celtic boss revealed he had taken his players on a low-profile team-building exercise this week while Martin has been criticised for taking his players on a hill-walking and wildswimming pursuit.
