Eve's brave youngster will not be denied in Vintage

ZAVATERI zipped down the Goodwood straight for a brave success at odds of 8-1 in the Group Two Coral Vintage Stakes.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s trainee was steered through a gap by Charlie Bishop as the runners dashed to the furlong pole.

In a rapidly changing picture, Morris Dancer and Do It Or Do Not thundered down the outside to press for top honours.

But Zavateri stuck his neck out to hold off the first-named runner by a short-head, with favourite Dorset ruining his chance in fifth by racing too keenly.
